Guna Yala

Guna Yala is the name of an archipelago on the Caribbean coast of Panama, near the Panamanian-Colombian border: a territory that belongs to the indigenous Guna people. The trip took place on the island of Sasardi-Mulatupu, in an isolated, traditional community. It is a land where ancestral traditions and bits of modernity meet.

The photographer received, during his visit, a warm welcome from the members of the community. Some members mandated him to take family portraits, a rare event on the island.
