Mushuau-Nipi

 

Located in Nunavik in the widening part of Georges River called "Wild Hut Lake", a modern aboriginal camp is erected each year on the site of a millennial gathering place; a mythical place to hunt caribou. Les Amis du Mushuau-Nipi organisation now offers a space for dialogue and encounter between indigenous and non-indigenous people. The organisation also works hard to make this ancestral site more accessible to first nations youth so they can witness the strength of their heritage.

 

François Léger Savard has been involved in this organization for several years. He was able to capture unforgettable moments during his stay in this territory of tradition and immensity.
